|
Why use Copper for Interiors? |
|
Copper for Interiors? The answer is a resounding yes. Aesthetically
enhancing interiors wall systems, ceilings, fixtures and hardware
have been available for hundreds of years. Copper offers many
performance advantages, such as being light weight, fire resistant,
durable (meaning that it does not require periodic replacement),
and highly workable by various methods. It also has the advantage
of being non-organic and it does not off-gas.
Within this section you will find information on a wide variety
of interior applications that take advantage of the multiple finish
options and colours available with copper and copper alloys, as
well as a myriad of system options. And, at the end of the day,
we must emphasize that copper is both highly recyclable and highly
recycled. It is possibly the greenest architectural metal available
today and is frequently used in building applications where a
green choice is the preferred choice.
On the following pages you will find out more about coppers potential
as an interior metal and the possibilities for its use in a broad
spectrum of design themes, under the following headings:
1. Raw Material
2. Joining & Fabrication
3. Copper Characteristics
4. Fundamentals
5. Finishes
6. Copper: The Green Choice
